TPJF Webinar Series: Rearing Sea Cucumbers

Abstract

For its third webinar series, The Philippine Journal of Fisheries (TPJF) shared to the public information on rearing sea cucumbers, or more commonly known as "balatan." The two studies featured in the webinar were: (1) "Growth, Development and Survival of Holothuria scabra Larvae in Different Microalgal Regimens and Water Rearing Media," and (2) "First-phase Juvenile Rearing of the Sea Cucumber Holothuria scabra in Eastern Samar, Philippines." Cristan Joy M. Campo, a researcher at the NFRDI-Marine Fisheries Research and Development Center (MFRDC) in Guiuan, Eastern Samar and Nonita S. Cabacaba, Officer-in-Charge of NFRDI-MFRDC, are the authors of the two studies and served as the resource speakers for the webinar.
