Abstract

The Urban Aquaponics Program is a priority focus of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), supporting the Department of Agriculture's "Plant, Plant, Plant Program." The program aims to introduce cost-efficient urban aquaculture technology using a solar-powered aquaponics system that empowers communities to ensure their food security and access to clean and healthy food while augmenting income. The program will also accelerate the transfer of technology in urban areas to improve households' farm productivity, considering sustainability and resiliency towards a food-secure Philippines.
