Abstract

The National Stock Assessment Program (NSAP) was institutionalized in 1997 as a regular program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Its main objective is to generate reliable data as basis in formulating policies for improved management and conservation of the country's capture fisheries resources. This is to attain sustainable utilization and conservation and to develop and institutionalize the capacity of BFAR Regional Offices in resource assessment and management.
