Abstract

Following the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement last January 2021, the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute - Fisheries Postharvest Research and Development Division (NFRDI FPHRDD) initiated a Capacity Enhancement Training of Bottled Tuna Production to the Samahan ng Mangingisdang Kababaihan (SAMAKA) in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro. This was conducted last March 8-11, 2021, in support of the implementation of the project "Technology Commercialization of Tuna Bottling Process in Occidental Mindoro." This training aims to empower the women and indigenous people of Sablayan in fisheries thru inclusivity in the vast fishery resources in the locality. This activity also coincides with the celebration of National Women's Month.
